The fort city of Monemvasia has only one gateway entrance. As it’s name suggests “Moni”=Sole and “Emvasia”=entrance turns this city into a small world.
The Church of Agia Sofia overlooks the region at the bleakest part of this rock, and yet it is one of the most beautiful sites of worship in Greece. A bridge connects Monemvasia to Gefyra, the main land, and is a 15 minute walking distance.
